Pagpaslang sa mga Palestino sa Gaza, kinondena ng BMP at ng iba pang organisasyon sa paggawa

PAGPASLANG SA MGA PALESTINO SA GAZA, KINONDENA NG BMP AT NG IBA PANG ORGANISASYON SA PAGGAWA

Agosto 6, 2014 - Inilunsad ng mga manggagawa ang isang pagkilos sa Boy Scouts Circle sa Timog Avenue sa Lungsod Quezon bilang protesta sa nangyayaring pagpaslang sa mga sibilyang Palestino sa Gaza.

Lumahok sa pagkilos na ito ang Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino (BMP), Alliance of Progressive Labor (APL) - SENTRO, Partido ng Manggagawa (PM), Socialista - National Confederation of Labor (NCL), NAGKAISA, Coalition Against Trafficking in Women - Asia Pacific (CATW-AP), Sanlakas, Kongreso ng Pagkakaisa ng Maralitang Lungsod (KPML), at marami pang iba. Nagkakaisa nilang tinuligsa ang nangyayaring masaker ng mga sibilyang Palestino sa Gaza. Nakikipagkaisa sila sa lahat ng manggagawa sa daigdig na nanawagang dapat nang itigil ang karahasan laban sa mga Palestino.

Nauna rito'y idinaos muna ang isang maikling talakayan sa conference room ng Alliance of Progressive Labor (APL). Ang pangunahing tagapagsalita rito ay si Herbert Docena, kung saan ipinaliwanag niya ang tunggalian sa pagitan ng mga Israeli at Palestino, pati na ang kasaysayan ng labanang ito, ang paghahati sa teritoryo ng lupa noong 1947, ang 1967 six-days war, ano ang Zionismo, at iba pa. Nagpaliwanag rin siya hinggil sa mga katanungan kaugnay sa Hamas at ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria).

Ipinakita rin ni Docena ang pahayag ng iba't ibang unyon ng manggagawang Palestino, tulad ng Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions - Gaza, General Union of Palestinian Workers, at sinusuportahan ng Congress of South African Trade Unions.

Nagsimula ang talakayan bandang ikaapat at kalahati ng hapon. Matapos iyon ay nagtungo sila sa Boy Scouts Circle ng ikaanim ng gabi. 

Napadaan naman sa pagkilos na iyon ang artistang si Kylie Padilla, na anak ng aktor na si Robin Padilla. Doon ay ipinahayag niyang nasasaktan siya sa nangyayaring pagkamatay ng mga sibilyan, lalo na ng mga bata, sa Gaza dahil sa ginagawang opensiba ng Israel laban sa mga Palestino, at nanawagan din siyang matigil na ang karahasan doon.

BMP to PH gov’t: Cancel diplomatic, military ties with Israel

The Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino(BMP), or Solidarity of Filipino Workers, a socialist labor center composed of around 200 trade unions and organizations in the Philippines, joins the rest of the world in condemning the barbaric bombardment of Gaza by the State of Israel.

The world’s most densely populated city is rained on by a storm of bombs. Hospitals, universities, and sanitation systems destroyed by missiles. Kids and their mothers are killed while sleeping. Around 10,000 are injured and nearly are 2,000 dead, including around 300 defenseless children, so far. As of the time of this writing, the death toll is steadily rising because there are no signs of any halt in Israel’s genocidal offensive.

What Israel has been doing to the Palestinians is a crime against humanity, an attack against civilization, that must be stopped immediately. Israel must not only be compelled to end this latest bombardment and invasion. It must also be compelled to end its nearly decade-long blockade of Gaza, bring down its Apartheid Wall, stop and roll back the construction of all illegal settlements in East Jerusalem and the West Bank, end its nearly half-century-long illegal occupation of Palestinian territories, and honor the right to return of all refugees it has illegally expelled.

We call upon all workers worldwide to stand with Gaza and to work together to pressure their own governments and the international community to stop this terrorist state.

We express our solidarity with all the Palestinian workers already resisting this state terrorism and with all Israeli workers struggling against their own government. We express our support to all Filipino and other migrant workers affected by Israel’s aggression.

We support the call for boycotts, divestments and sanctions (BDS) against Israel that Palestinian civil society has called for since 2005.

In particular, we support the Palestinian people’s demand for an arms embargo against Israel and for sanctions against all countries that provide weapons and military aid to Israel, such as the United States and the European Union.

We demand that our own government stand for international law by joining the growing number of governments that have cut off their diplomatic ties with Israel and recalled their ambassadors from Tel Aviv.

To back this stance, we demand the Philippine government to ban all future deployments of Filipino migrant workers to Israel, ensure the safe repatriation of all workers who wish to return to the country, and ensure their gainful employment upon their return.

We also demand the Philippine government to immediately cancel all its military contracts with Israel and terminate all negotiations for Israel to supply the Philippines with weapons.

Only by isolating Israel—just as it isolated apartheid South Africa in the 1980s—can the international community send a strong message that violations of international law will not be tolerated; only then can we have a chance of preventing crimes against humanity and defending civilization.#

Lunes, Hulyo 28, 2014 - Nagmartsa patungo sa Batasang Pambansa, ngunit hinarang na agad ang mga raliyistang nananawagan ng pagpapatalsik kay Noynoy Aquino sa pwesto, sa ikalimang SONA (State of the Nation Address) ni Pangulong Noynoy Aquino, dalawang taon bago matapos ang kanyang termino. Mula sa Tandang Sora ay hindi man lang nakarating kahit sa Gotesco ang mga raliyista dahil hinarang na sila ng mga pulis, kaya nagpasya na silang magprograma isang kilometro bago mag-Ever Gotesco, sa kahabaan ng Commonwealth Avenue.

Dala ang malaking streamer na de-gulong na may panawagang "Aquino, Patalsikin! Itakwil ang Kurap at Elitistang Rehimen! Itayo ang Gobyerno ng Masa!" at malaking dilaw na krus na nakasulat ang "Pasakit sa Manggagawa - BMP" at "Patalsikin!", sama-samang nagmartsa ang mga grupong Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino (BMP), SANLAKAS, Partido Lakas ng Masa (PLM), Kongreso ng Pagkakaisa ng mga Maralita ng Lungsod (KPML), Metro Manila Vendors Alliance (MMVA), Samahan ng Mamamayan - Zone One Tondo Organization (SM-ZOTO), Aniban ng Manggagawa sa Agrikultura (AMA), SUPER-Federation, Piglas Kabataan (PK), Makabayan-Pilipinas, Koalisyon Pabahay Pilipinas (KPP), atbp. Sumama rin sa kanila ang grupong Manggagawang Sosyalista (MASO) at Teachers' Dignity Coalition (TDC).

Kasabay nilang magprograma ang mga grupong nasa ilalim ng Freedom from Debt Coalition (FDC) at Philippine Movement for Climate Justice (PMCJ).

Ang SONA ay ginaganap tuwing ikaapat na Lunes ng Hulyo.
